Gordon Bell has been appointed Club Captain with immediate effect, replacing Gary Wallis who asked to stand down due to work and family commitments. Gordon will liaise with team captains and the Hull & District league co-ordinators and report back to the committee. |
| 26/06/2008 | Ferriby success in Junior Tournament.
Congratulations to Abby Omblertruran on winning the under 17 title in the Humber Junior Squash Tournament, beating James Thompson ( Anlaby ) 12-10 in the 5th.
David Hardy narrowly lost in the under 15 final to Farouk Forster ( Riding ) also in the 5th., while Alex Griffiths just lost in his semi-final.

Mike Clemson has just repeated his win in the 2008 British Open over 65's Championships in Liverpool. He beat Adrian Wright 3 - 1 in the final. Well done Mike ! |
| 15/05/2008 | Ferriby success in the Humbersquash Knockout Championships.
Congratulations to Steve Birss on winning the Div. 3 Quantock Cup, beating Mike Archibald 3 - 2 in the final.
Nick Oaten reached the final of the Div. 4 Harris Cup, but narrowly lost to Sam Woolard of Beverley 3 - 2 .
In the Div. 1 Jacobs Cup final Andy kiddy, the holder, had to concede the match in the 5th to Gary Wiliiams of Anlaby after sustaining a nasty cut to the eye which needed several stitches.

| 14/02/2008 | Ferriby Hall Squash Club has been accredited with the Bronze Award of the England Squash Club Charter for achieving the standards required in the National Criteria for club excellence and development.
Mark Shipley, Northern Area England Squash manager, presented the award at the Club on Tuesday Feb. 14th 2008. |
| 10/02/2008 | The Annual General Meeting was held on Feb. 4th 2008 , when the current committee was re-elected for the coming year apart from Jean Deacon who stood down due to family and work commitments. Clive Tomlinson was nominated to fill the vacancy and was elected to serve on the committee.

This provides us with a new site design, new facilities and much easier updates, which means it will be possible to keep the site more up to date and for it to carry information about the events and tournaments online as well as on the club notice boards. Please take a look at the Competitions section, where you should find up to date results, leagues etc. If you have any information, photos etc. for the site or suggestions for improvements then please send them to mail@ferribysquash.org or contact a member of the committee. Also note that the site is being further upgraded during January and early February and there may be short periods where parts of the site cannot be accessed. Following his remarkable comeback to win the British over 65s title in Manchester, Mike Clemson has just repeated the "great escape" in winning the Midlands Open in Coventry, beating the holder Adrian Wright after being two games down and 0 - 5 in the third. Well done Mike! |
