Summer and Winter Handicap Leagues

The summer and winter handicap leagues are our premier competitions throughout the year. Teams comprise 3 members playing at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 positions. Each player has a handicap assigned, based on general skill, to ensure games are close fought. American scoring is employed and the match consists 33 minutes of play with a 5 minute warm up and 3 minute break.

Games must be played at the published times and players are responsible for obtaining substitues (from the list) in the event of being unable to play their game. A point is awarded for each won match.

The Handicap leagues are closely fought but played with great enthusiasm and bonhomie. Winning teams receive recognition at the annual awards dinner and have their names engraved on the club cup.

The latest league table is here. Full details in the menu to the left.

Mini Leagues

The individual mini leagues are very popular and operate on a six week cycle.

The details of the current round are posted on the notice board.

Generally each league consists of about 5 players who must arrange to play each other over the course of 6 weeks, with two players being promoted and relegated from each division. Matches are played to English scoring over 3 games, scores are based on the games won by each player.

The exact functioning of the mini league is liable to vary somewhat each round, according to the number of people playing, so please watch the boards.
